Fort Valley mayor’s race heads to runoff between Lundy and Reeves

Shakeena Reeves led Tuesday’s vote with about 44 percent, while incumbent Mayor Jeffery Lundy finished second with nearly 27 percent.

FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The race for mayor of Fort Valley is headed to a runoff after no candidate secured more than 50 percent of the vote in Tuesday’s election.

Incumbent Mayor Jeffery F. Lundy and challenger Shakeena B. Reeves will face off again in a runoff election on December 2.

Reeves received 464 votes, or 44.15 percent. Lundy followed with 282 votes, or 26.83 percent. Anthony Clark earned 233 votes, or 22.17 percent, while Andrew Young Kim received 72 votes, or 6.85 percent.
