Forsyth man killed in traffic accident

FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Forsyth man died after his truck overturned Thursday afternoon.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office tells 41NBC the accident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Unionville Road. Investigators say 66-year-old James Brookshire and his wife were driving in a Chevy pickup truck when it left the roadway, hit a culvert, and then flipped over.

The sheriff’s office says Brookshire was ejected from the truck and died on the scene. His wife was trapped inside. Monroe County Fire and EMS got her out of the vehicle and she was sent to a local hospital for treatment.

Investigators say the cause of the accident is unknown at this time. The investigation is on-going.
