Forsyth Main Street to host concert series, street market
Organizers say the events are intended to bring the community together while supporting local businesses and providing family-friendly entertainment in downtown Forsyth.
MONROE COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Forsyth Main Street is hosting a series of weekly markets and live music events to bring visitors to downtown Forsyth this spring and summer.
The Forsyth Main Street Market will run every Friday beginning in May through October at Forsyth City Hall, located at 23 East Main St. The market will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering fresh fruits and vegetables, honey, dairy products, homemade soaps, arts and crafts and other locally made goods.
Kemie Childs, director of Main Street and the Downtown Development Authority, said the market is designed to support local vendors and provide the community with access to fresh and handmade products.
In addition to the market, the Forsyth Main Street Concert Series will return with performances scheduled on select Saturdays from May through October at Courthouse Square.
The concert series kicks off May 2 with the Bmuzick Band. Other performances include Something 4 the Soul on June 6, Mass Affect Band on July 4, Departure: Journey Tribute Band on August 1, and Chris, Jon, and Scott on October 3.
Concerts will run from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., with the October concert scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
