Forsyth Bank Robbery

After a bank robbery in Forsyth Tuesday morning two suspects are being detained.

The Bank of America is located at 35 South Lee Street. Forsyth Police Department’s Sgt. David Asbell says an African American male entered the bank around 10A.M. The suspect presented the bank teller with a note demanding money.

An undisclosed amount of cash was given to the man who fled on foot. A witness inside the bank provided the police with the direction in which the suspect took off running.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputies along with City of Forsyth Police apprehended the suspected robber and another suspect within minutes of the robbery at the intersection of Lover’s Lane and Hunter Street.  The bank’s money was recovered. However, the suspects names have not yet been released.
