Former Laurens County detention officer arrested

A former detention officer with the Laurens County Sheriff's Office has been arrested following a joint investigation with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A former detention officer with the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office has been arrested following a joint investigation with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

According to a Laurens County Sheriff’s Office news release, 48-year-old Joseph Phillips Poss is charged with violation of oath of office and procuring prohibited items to an inmate.

He was arrested at his home on Monday and booked into the Laurens County Jail.
