Former Heard-Porter Elementary School students uncover time capsule
The time capsule, buried on May 11, 1994, held old letters, comic books, stuffed animals, and other memorabilia that students put into the chest.
During the ceremony, other former students-who now live around the world-were able to video chat with the entire group in order to be present during the ceremony.
REACH teacher, Dr. Michelle Gowan helped bury, and today, open the chest and hand her students their belongs.
“I think one of the things that a lot of the children are really interesting in is many of them have letters from a loved one in the time capsule, and for some of them those loved ones are no longer here. So, they’re particularly motivated to come and get those things from their loved ones,” says Gowan.
