Former Commissioner Lonzy Edwards wants to be Macon-Bibb’s next mayor

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Former Bibb County Commissioner Lonzy Edwards announced he’s running for Mayor of Macon-Bibb County.

In a statement Edwards said, “I’m running because in the last eight years our community has had too little growth; too little economic opportunity; too much hopelessness; too few good paying jobs; too much blight; too little effort to make local government work for all; and too few people who can truthfully say our community is better off now than it was when the incumbent took office.”

While on the Board of Commissioners, Edwards chaired the Engineering, Tobesofkee, Risk Management and Public Safety, Human Resources, Animal Welfare, and Finance Committees.
