Former Bibb Schools superintendent files lawsuit against Macon accounting firm

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The former Bibb County Schools Superintendent is suing a Macon accounting firm and claims it made false statements.

Dr. Romain Dallemand says Mauldin & Jenkins committed professional negligence, libel, and slander. He also feels the firm interfered with relationships that could have been beneficial for him.

In the lawsuit, Dallemand accuses the accountants of intentionally publishing malicious and false statements in the School Board’s 2013 Fiscal Year Audit. It showed Dallemand spent more than $500,000 without the board’s approval. The audit cites nine different times where Dallemand allegedly didn’t follow protocol.

Dallemand is asking for a jury trial to decide how much money he should receive as a result of the damages he suffered.

This is the third lawsuit involving Dallemand. He’s also suing the school board for $10 million. He claims it violated part of his severance agreement.

The district is suing Dallemand for no less than $7.3 million. The board claims Dallemand illegally purchased millions of dollars worth of computers.
