Flu Vaccines Offered to Bibb County School Kids

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon-Bibb Health Department is offering flu vaccinations to Bibb County school kids.

It’s part of the district’s ‘Flu Vaccine Program’ to keep children healthier during the flu season.

Elementary, middle and high school children are able to participate.

Director of Safety and Risk Management for the Bibb County School District David Gowan says parents and students need to take advantage of this program.

“It’s a good program for really anybody, because it’s really preventive medicine when you take a vaccine especially a flu vaccine that reduces your chances… of getting the flu during the flu season, so it’s very important,” says Gowan.

If you’re interested in getting your child vaccinated, call their school to request a flu release form.

The program ends Friday, November 1st.
