FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Two people from Florida are in custody after deputies say they found marijuana and crack cocaine inside a vehicle during a traffic stop in Monroe County.
In an email, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Anna Watkins said the stop happened just before 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 7. She says deputies observed a small bag of marijuana and asked the vehicle occupants—Danny Waye and Felicia Brown of Jacksonville, Florida—to step out of the vehicle for a search.
Watkins says deputies found a vacuum sealed bag containing crack cocaine with an estimated weight of half a pound.
“Also found in between the front seat and the center console were two small bags of suspected crack cocaine,” Watkins wrote.
Waye and Brown were both arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine. Brown was also charged with driving on a suspended license.
A 13-year-old child in the vehicle was taken to the sheriff’s office to be picked up by her mother, Watkins wrote.
Waye and Brown are both being held in the Monroe County Jail without bond.
