Five Firemen Get a Special Delivery for Labor Day
WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A local Olive Garden serves those who serve our community.
The big name chain restaurant held its 12th annual Labor Day Hospitaliano!-were service men and women are delivered a full lunch including: pasta, salad and breadsticks.
This year the firemen of Station 6 were greeted by a staff of managers, and chefs ready to dish out some Olive Garden favorites.
“We go out into the community and identify our service people who basically would much rather probably be out grilling, having fun with their families, and at this time of the year-instead-they’re doing a service for our community,” says manager Daniel Jones.
More than 800 locations across the nation participate in the efforts to honor the workers on Labor Day.
Lieutenant Auda Squires of the Warner Robins Fire Department says it feels good to be appreciated for all of the hard work each fireman does.
“Anytime that we’re recognized for the things that we do, we appreciate it. We don’t ask for it, but we appreciate it,” says Lt. Squires.
Jones says the tradition affords him, and his staff the opportunity to make sure firemen, police and other service man and/or woman get the same opportunity to enjoy the holiday.
