‘First Friday Flannel & Food Trucks’ set for Friday in Milledgeville

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Milledgeville Main Street is set to transform downtown into a “wintry mountain village” for the First Friday Flannel & Food Trucks event, starting at 5 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024.
Presented by Five Star Automotive, the evening will live music, food trucks, and unique demonstrations, including chainsaw carving and blacksmithing, according to a Milledgeville Main Street news release, which said the first 200 attendees wearing mountain flannel or plaid will receive a free gift.
Downtown businesses will extend their hours for shopping, dining, and cocktails, with special First Friday Cocktail Caddy Cups allowing customers to enjoy drinks outside the restaurants.
Vendors, located in the 100 block of South Wayne Street, will include Southern Dawgs Catering, The Crab Hut, Devereux’s Crab Shack, El Amigo Mexican Restaurant, Saucy Saucy, Agave Azul, Glo’s Thighs & Pies, Annie Lou’s Seafood & More, Davi’s Snacks & Mini Pancakes, Main Squeeze lemonade, Haley’s Treats, and Nanny’s Stuff.
“There will be no shortage of food choices for the evening,” the release said.
Family-friendly activities will feature Splinter’s Axe House & Tavern’s mobile axe-throwing trailer and an inflatable axe-throwing area for children. Nemo’s Workshop will demonstrate chainsaw art, carving a commission piece featuring Milledgeville’s iconic “Milly” owl and selling merchandise.
Local Folk Band will perform from 6-8 p.m.
The Ocmulgee Blacksmith Guild will conduct live blacksmithing demonstrations, and fire pits from the Milledgeville-Baldwin County Development Authority will provide warmth.
Milledgeville’s Bigfoot Billy will also be there and will be available for photos.
