Armarion Hunt, the last suspect wanted in connection with the death of 18-year-old Javen Lamont Turner earlier this month, was taken into custody in Milledgeville, according to an update from Sparta Police.

“We extend our gratitude to the GBI-Milledgeville Region 6 for their tireless efforts and commitment to the case, resulting in the successful apprehension of all five offenders,” Sparta Police Chief Tommie Walker Jr. wrote in a Facebook post on Saturday. “We also appreciate the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in securing the scene on the day of the incident.”
Walker also thanked the U.S. Marshals, Milledgeville Police and the community for their support.
UPDATE (1/4/25): Four adults and a juvenile are now charged in connection to the shooting death of a man Friday afternoon in Sparta.
According to a news release, 18-year-old Javen Lamont Turner of Sparta died on Saturday after being shot at the intersection of Broad Street and Miles Street on Friday.
22-year-old Nehemiah Henderson of Sparta, 20-year-old Armarion Hunt of Sparta, 18-year-old Darrion Deandre Green of Thompson and 18-year-old Mikez Yaraus Edwards of Sparta are all charged with felony murder.
According to police, Hunt is still wanted.
The juvenile is being held in the Regional Youth Detention Center, police said.

SPARTA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – One person was hospitalized Friday afternoon after being shot multiple times in Hancock County.
According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), the Sparta Police Department has requested the GBI’s assistance in the case.
The GBI said in a news release Friday night that around 3 p.m. Friday, the Hancock County 911 center received a call about “people in a car shooting at another car.”
“The passenger was hit multiple times and taken to the hospital,” the release stated.
No arrests have been made.
The GBI did not provide the exact location of the shooting, and there’s no update on the injured person’s condition.
