Man dies after being struck by trash truck in Macon
Deputies say it happened Saturday morning at the intersection of Hartley Avenue and Ridge Avenue.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man has died after being struck by a vehicle Saturday morning, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Hartley Avenue and Ridge Avenue at 10:14 a.m.
Investigators say the driver of a 2022 Mack Terrapro was reversing when a 45-year-old man behind the vehicle was struck. Paramedics treated the pedestrian at the scene before taking him to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones been identified the victim as Chad Williams of Dry Branch. His family has been notified.
According to Jones, Williams was pronounced dead at 10:43 a.m. in the emergency room. Jones said the vehicle involved was a Ryland Environmental trash truck and that Williams was employed by the company.
The crash remains under investigation. At this time, no charges have been filed.
