Fatal crash in Laurens County on Tuesday involved 3 tractor trailers
DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Georgia State Patrol sent out an unfinished report on Wednesday December 1st, detailing the preliminary investigative findings concerning a crash that had happened a day before, involving 3 tractor trailers.
According to the release, at 12:12 p.m. on November 30, 2021, the Georgia State Patrol Post 20 Dublin began investigating a fatal wreck on Interstate 16 near mile marker 40 in Laurens County involving 3 tractor trailers.
Investigators believe that traffic was slowing and being directed to the left lane due to road maintenance in the right lane when the driver of a tractor trailer failed to see that traffic was slowing and struck another tractor trailer from behind before veering left and striking a second tractor trailer in the rear as well. The tractor trailer that hit the other two burst into flames and the driver suffered fatal injuries.
