Fatal I-475 car accident leaves one man dead

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb deputies are investigating a fatal wreck on I-475.

The vehicle was traveling southbound on I-475 when it skidded off the wet road and into the trees.

Authorities said the driver 54 year old Michael Eugene Dye of Macon died. Paramedics tried to help Dye, but he was pronounced dead on the scene.

The Honda Civic Dye was driving was not severely damaged.

The crash happened around 4:00 this afternoon at the Eisenhower exit 3 off ramp, between Eisenhower Parkway and Mercer University Drive.

Authorities from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office continue to investigate the crash.
