Electric bus company shows off technology to Macon-Bibb

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Terminal Station hosted the second electric bus demonstration Monday morning.

City leaders learned more about Proterra’s electric bus technology and took a ride on one through downtown Macon.

The founder of Proterra hopes Macon-Bibb will choose his company to build buses for the city.

“I’m convinced that this is the wave of the future,” said founder of Proterra Dale Hill. “We feel like that battery electric buses will displace diesel buses at a large percentage of the fleets around the world over the next five to ten years.”

Hill also said the electric buses would be less expensive for Macon-Bibb in the long run.
