Two arrested after shots fired into occupied Eastman home
Eastman police say no one was hurt, but investigators recovered two dozen shell casings from the roadway.

EASTMAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Two people have been arrested in connection with a shooting into an occupied home earlier this month in Eastman, according to the Eastman Police Department.
Police say officers responded to a report of shots fired on Ward Street near First Avenue on Sunday, February 8. Investigators found 24 shell casings in the roadway and determined the home had been struck at least seven times. No injuries were reported.
According to police, investigators and patrol officers worked to establish probable cause and obtained arrest warrants on Friday, February 13. With assistance from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice partners, two people were taken into custody on Saturday, February 14.
18-year-old Joshua Devine of Eastman was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated assault, criminal damage to property in the first degree, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, discharge of a firearm near a highway and obstruction of an officer.
A 17-year-old from Eastman was also arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated assault, criminal damage to property in the first degree, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and discharge of a firearm near a highway.
“If you Commit a crime in Eastman, you better prepare to face the consequences,” a post on the police department’s Facebook page said. “There have been way too many shootings happening lately all over the Country. Know that if you want to commit a major crime in Eastman we will work until you are caught. We will work with all of our Law enforcement Partners until you are caught. We will work with our District Attorney and the courts to see that you are punished. This senseless violence has to stop.”
