EASTMAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Eastman residents are dealing with water disruptions after a water main break on Wednesday.

The City of Eastman says the break happened near 5th and Woodland, leading to the shutdown of water in Jessup Heights and the Legion Drive area. “We ask for your patience during this process,” a Facebook post stated.

In an update, the city said it was necessary to temporarily shut down wells to help with ongoing repairs. “For now, this only impacts the Industrial Park and Legion Drive wells,” the update stated.

As of 8:50 p.m., city crews were still working to restore normal water service. Residents should avoid the area.

“It’s already been a long day/night for our guys,” an 8:36 p.m. update said. “Please continue to have patience as they work on this water main break.”
