East Macon community center forum moved to new location

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – This Thursday is your final chance to help decide what changes will come to the Delores A. Brooks Community Center.

The Macon-Bibb County Recreation Department has moved the location of the third and final forum to the Rosa Jackson Community Center.  Officials say they changed the location because the Delores A. Brooks Community Center is undergoing repairs.

Officials say $2.4 million dollars from the voter approved Special Purpose Local Options Sales Tax will be used to improve the recreational center.

WM2A architects will take the input from the community to create preliminary drawings. The group will then present a final draft to the public before presenting it to the Macon-Bibb County Commission.

Thursday’s forum is from 6pm to 8pm at the community center on 1211 Maynard Street.
