East Macon could become a new Tax Allocation District
MACON, (41NBC/WMGT) – A plan is in place to improve East Macon.
Macon-Bibb County and the Middle Georgia Regional Commission held a public hearing to discuss making it a Tax Allocation District.
A redevelopment plan focuses public and private investment in targeted geographical areas characterized by conditions of underdevelopment, distress or blight.
The area includes the Ocmulgee National Monument across the river to Walnut Street.
No new tax money is involved.
There are currently three tax allocation districts in place.
No word on when Macon-Bibb County commissioners will vote on this plan.
