Early voting numbers in Peach County continue to exceed expectations

FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Early voting numbers continue to exceed expectations across Middle Georgia including polling locations in Peach County.

Peach County Board of Elections Officials reported exponential increases with around 3,000 ballots cast in Byron and 2,700 cast in Fort Valley.

Board of elections Supervisor Adrienne Ray says she believes the high numbers are a result of a high stakes race for governor.

“Usually we have maybe 300-400 early voting and then maybe 250 in the Byron area,” she said.

Ray says they’ve also seen absentee ballot requests increase from 46 in previous elections to 400 this year so far.

Early voting in Georgia ends on November 2nd.
