Early voting in Georgia nears 180,000 Ballots as turnout continues to climb
Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger says the state is on track to surpass 180,000 ballots cast, highlighting what he describes as growing voter participation across Georgia.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Early voting numbers in Georgia continue to rise, with state officials pointing to strong turnout just days into the voting period.
According to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, the state was nearing that milestone during the latest update, with approximately 179,800 votes already recorded. He expects that number to continue climbing as more voters head to the polls in the coming days.
The increase follows a strong start to early voting, which has already seen tens of thousands of Georgians cast ballots in person. State data shows turnout has remained steady since voting began, with officials continuing to monitor participation statewide.
Raffensperger attributes the high turnout in part to what he says is voter confidence in Georgia’s election system, as well as the availability of multiple voting opportunities.
Early voting will continue through May 15, with several additional chances for voters to cast their ballots, including upcoming Saturdays and Sunday voting periods.
Election officials say those options are designed to give Georgians flexibility and help maintain steady turnout leading up to Election Day.
