Dublin-Laurens County among finalists for Animal Planet shelter makeover
DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Dublin-Laurens County Humane Society is among the top 5 finalists for an Animal Planet shelter makeover.
Officials from animal control confirmed the news with 41NBC Tuesday.
The Animal Planet “Pet Nation Renovation” website shows the shelter as the only one from the state of Georgia. It says the shelter needs a new roof, plumbing, windows, kennels, outdoor play yards and electrical work.
The entry video attached to the website says the shelter houses between 70 dogs and 30 cats at a time. The entry says the facility is “very old” and was built more than 50 years ago. The videos shows boarded up windows, a worn down central air unit and water damage in the area where the cats play.
Voting ends April 4. Winners are announced April 12. To learn more about the contest and vote for the shelter click here. You can vote as many times as you want.
