Druitt to run for Macon-Bibb District 6 Commissioner

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Former Macon-Bibb E.M.A. Director Don Druitt, 62, plans to run for District 6 commissioner.

The seat is currently held by Commissioner Ed Defore.

The former serviceman says he is focusing on revitalizing Lizella’s blighted areas, creating more jobs and building more park areas.

“Now that we have a consolidating government, I think there is some time for some progressive movement towards development,” Druitt says, “We have undeveloped property in Lizella that has infrastructure in place and it needs the housing. We need to increase the population in Bibb County and this is one way to do it.”

He would also like to fill the Public Safety Committee Chair position if elected as commissioner, and join the Operations and Finance Committee.

Druitt says he will run a non-funded campaign.
