Dozens of Mentor’s Project volunteers donate food to seniors

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Students in Macon were up early giving back Tuesday morning.

Dozens of kids with the Mentor’s Project packed up grocery bags for seniors at the center on Adams Street.

Executive Director June O’Neal says this is the 16th annual event, she adds seniors look forward to the day all year.

“We want the children to know it’s not all about them. It’s all about everybody and they got up early on a day when they could’ve slept in to come to serve and I think that says something for these wonderful young people,” O’Neal said.

Kroger and the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank donated the supplies.
