Downtown Milledgeville project is preserving history

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The city of Milledgeville is working to update and beautify historic downtown. The city is working on the fourth phase of its downtown Streetscape Project.

It’s a $1.2-million project. It includes landscaping, lighting, roadwork, sidewalks, and storm-water replacement.

Right now, crews are working on the 100 blocks of West Green Street, South Wilkinson Street, and West McIntosh Street.

The project is also adding parking spaces to downtown.  Parking will go from 75 spots to 96 parking spaces.

The project will be finished by July.
