Inmate hospitalized after Dooly State Prison ‘altercation’

GDC says one inmate was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and has since returned to the facility

UNADILLA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Georgia Department of Corrections is investigating an “altercation” involving three inmates at Dooly State Prison.

GDC confirmed Monday that it happened on Sunday, June 7.

According to GDC, one inmate was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The department says the inmate has since returned to the facility.

GDC says the altercation remains under investigation. The department says additional details are not available while the investigation is ongoing and that any individuals found responsible for the injuries will be held accountable.
