Dooly County Bobcats aiming for 6th straight winning season

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – After five straight winning seasons under head coach Jimmy Hughes, and a total record of 42-18, the Dooly County Bobcats are aiming to take yet another step forward as the beginning of the 2015 season nears.

The Bobcats finished 8-4 in 2014, defeating Claxton in the first round of the playoffs before bowing out in the quarterfinal to Irwin County. Dooly County finished third in the region.

The offense managed 31.25 points a game last fall and will have three players returning.

The key, however, might just be the defense as the Bobcats will deploy highly recruited star end Antoneous Clayton. Coach Hughes says it always helps a squad to have a star player in the ranks to shoulder the workload.

Wilcox County will be Dooly’s first opponent for 2015 as they start on the road on August 28th. The first home game will be on September 4th versus Turner County.
