Deputies: Man caught with stolen merchandise after Macon Dollar General break-in

Deputies say the suspect was found with store merchandise and taken into custody at the scene.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Deputies arrested a 58-year-old man Wednesday morning after a burglary at a Dollar General store in Macon.

According to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release, the call came into the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center at 7:50 a.m. Deputies responded to the store, located at 1444 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, where they say a male suspect was seen on video surveillance forcefully entering the business.

Deputies took the man into custody at the scene and reported finding merchandise from the store in his possession. The release did not reveal what was taken.

The suspect was identified as 58-year-old Rodney Wade Fyffe of Macon. He was taken to the Bibb County Jail.

The sheriff’s office said Fyffe faces a felony charge of second-degree burglary and is being held without bond.
