Dogs Taking Dip in Macon Pool Sunday
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – They call these hot, humid days the “Dog Days” of summer, but this week, the dogs in Macon-Bibb County get a day that’s actually all about them.
The inaugural Macon-Bibb Doggie-Dip is set for Sunday, August 4 at East Macon Swimming Pool, just one day after the pool is closed for the summer. It’s located at 3326 Ocmulgee East Boulevard.
The event, which lasts from noon until 7 p.m., is designed for dog lovers to spend their day with their favorite companion and meet others who share the same interest, according to a release from Bibb County Public Affairs Officer Kevin Barrere.
Dogs will get the chance to play, run free and swim in the pool but will be removed if they get aggressive.
Macon-Bibb Animal Welfare will be accepting pet food donations on-site.
To enter the event, it’s $2 per dog and $1 per person.
