Dogs and puppies abandoned at All About Animals

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – More than 20 unwanted dogs were dropped off at All About Animals Rescue Shelter on Riverside Drive in Macon this week.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating who would have left the dogs, according to officials at the shelter.

41NBC has learned the dogs were tied to fences and abandoned at the shelter.

A litter of puppies was dumped in a cardboard box in the rain Friday with a brick on top and a note attached asking workers to take care of them.

“We don’t have any more kennels”, says Della Smith, an All About Animals volunteer. “We’re full with the animals that we are taking in. We can’t pull anymore from the local animal shelter, so animals are dying.”

Smith says some of the abandoned dogs will not allow volunteers to get close enough to capture them. She added they desperately need people to adopt the puppies and dogs to make room for more animals.
