Dog freezes to death in Macon
“I do not allow outside pets, and I was shocked to see a dead dog tied up,” said Scott Spires, owner of Kingston Apartment. “It was some kind of pitbull.”
Spires called Macon-Bibb Animal Welfare and they came out to the complex to investigate
Animal Welfare Officer Cson Johnson went to the scene and examined the dog’s body, later pronouncing the dog dead.
“During the winter time, we find dogs frozen to death”, said Johnson. “When we have severe cases of animal cruelty, we contact the Bibb County Sheriff Deputies.”
Deputies arrived to the scene and began their investigation by questioning the dog’s owner and neighbors.
Deputies will perform a necropsy on the dog and then determine whether to charge the owner with a misdemeaner or felony.
