DNR: Georgia beaches reopen
ATLANTA (41NBC/WMGT) – Georgia’s Department of Natural Resources says the state’s beaches, many of which were recently closed by local ordinances, are back open.
That’s according to a statement sent Friday afternoon by DNR, which says Governor Brian Kemp’s statewide shelter-in-place order executive order “lifts all local ordinances and orders that had prior closed or restricted access to Georgia beaches.”
“The beaches will reopen with the added restrictions outlined in Commissioner Williams’ Administrative Order,” the statement said. “DNR will be ramping up Game Warden patrols to comprehensively monitor our beaches for compliance with the Executive Order and Administrative Order, including all social distancing activities.”
