Deputies: Woman arrested after firing gun near ‘crowded sidewalk’ in downtown Macon
Bibb County deputies say a 26-year-old woman is in custody after firing a gun near a crowded sidewalk in downtown Macon early Saturday.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County deputies say a 26-year-old woman is in custody after firing a gun near a crowded sidewalk in downtown Macon early Saturday.
According to the sheriff’s office, Zariah Ashayla Johnson, who was armed with a Glock, was located in an alleyway.
“When she saw deputies, she tried to throw the gun into a dumpster and run away,” the post stated.
She was caught and taken into custody on charges of felony obstruction of law enforcement officers (2 counts), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, discharge of a weapon on or near a public highway or street and reckless conduct.
Additional charges are pending.
