Deputies investigating after Taylor County couple saves abused dog

BUTLER, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Taylor County couple went through extreme measures to save an abused and abandoned dog.

Les and Tresa Williams say the dog, named Angel, was covered in fleas, was malnourished, and had several wounds. The dog then stopped breathing. Tresa Williams immediately jumped into action and performed CPR.

The dog came back to life and they rushed her to a veterinarian, who said Angel had been shot four times.

“If she survived one surgery the infection may have killed her,” says Tresa Williams. “But then she had other surgeries she would have to go through and she wasn’t going to survive.”

The Williams made the heart-breaking decision to euthanize Angel.

The couple now wants the person responsible to be put behind bars and they’re offering a $500 reward.
