CW Show ‘The Originals’ films in Macon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A CW show is shooting episodes in Macon this week.

The Originals follows vampire Klaus Mikaelson and his family as they deal with the supernatural politics of the city of New Orleans.

It’s a spinoff of the TV series the Vampire Diaries.

A lane running down Mulberry Street near the Mercer Law school was closed for the filming today.

Chair of the Macon Film Commission Terrell Sandefur says Macon is an attractive place for t-v shows and movies to shoot.

“One great thing about The Originals is it’s set in New Orleans, so they’re looking for architecture which is befitting of New Orleans which we have a lot of, so this is a good get for us,” said Sandefur.

Sandefur says the economic impact of TV and film crews in Macon is huge.
