Coroner: Motorcyclist killed in Sunday crash on Highway 49 north near Byron

38-year-old Antonio Wooten died after crash with a vehicle that entered the road near Spooner Drive, according to the Peach County coroner.

UPDATE: Georgia State Patrol says the crash happened around 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Investigators say a Harley Davidson motorcycle was heading east on Highway 49 and approached the intersection with Spooner Drive. A Toyota Corolla was traveling south on Spooner Drive and attempted to turn left onto Highway 49, entering the motorcycle’s path.

Troopers say the front of the Corolla hit the right side of the motorcycle. Wooten, of Alamo, died at the scene. The driver of the Corolla was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

BYRON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A 38-year-old man died Sunday afternoon after a motorcycle crash on Highway 49 near Byron, according to Peach County Coroner Kerry Rooks.

Rooks identified the victim as Antonio Wooten. He says he was traveling north when a car entered the road near Spooner Drive before the collision.

Wooten was pronounced dead at 2:05 p.m., Rooks said.
