Coroner: Man dies after shooting on Rocky Creek Road in Macon

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones identified the man as Montago Maxwell.

UPDATE: The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says the man was taken to the hospital in critical condition before being pronounce dead there.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call the sheriff’s office at (478) 751-7500 and ask to speak with an investigator or call Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A 45-year-old man is dead after being shot Wednesday on Rocky Creek Road in Macon, according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.

Jones identified the man as Montago Maxwell.

Jones says the shooting happened in the 1200 block of Rocky Creek Road just before 5:30 p.m. and that Maxwell was pronounced dead just before 6 p.m.

Jones said his family had been notified.
