MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon-Bibb Coroner Leon Jones says a human skull was found in a bucket at Macon’s Rose Hill Cemetery on Wednesday.

Jones says the man who found it notified him and the cemetery manager.

Upon arrival, Jones says he went down a step of steps toward the river and made a right going east toward Spring Street. That’s when he says he saw a rubber snake, a walking cane and what appeared to be tree limbs in a bucket. He says a skull was also in the bucket.

“From the time I arrived I knew this was a human skull,” Jones wrote in response to a 41NBC inquiry about the discovery.

He says he notified the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

That’s all the information we have right now. Check back for updates.
