MACON, GEORGIA(41 NBC/WMGT) — Health officials at Medical Center Navicent Health say that many people may battle grief this holiday season.

COVID-19 will determine how we celebrate the holidays this year.

Gailtricia Fogg with Navicent Health says, “For everybody it’s different, people see grief in different ways but it’s important that first of all they acknowledge the grief.”

This year may prove especially tough for those who once celebrated the holidays with a particular person no longer there.

Not only are people dealing with grief but not being able to gather because of COVID. has taken a toll on many who need that time with family.

How to cope with grief during the Holidays

  • Reach out to loved ones and friends via Zoom and Facetime
  • Take walks or pick up new hobbies
