Cooling temperature trend begins Wednesday afternoon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The cold front responsible for storms Tuesday afternoon and evening will begin to cool things off around Middle Georgia tomorrow afternoon.
This Evening
Isolated showers and a few storms will stick around through the evening with possibly a shower still around pushing midnight. Tonight should be the last of the really warm nights Middle Georgia has been seeing as low temperatures will fall in the upper 60s. The wind will be light out of the east-northeast. Overhead skies should remain mostly cloudy and a bit of fog will be possible into Wednesday morning as well.
Tomorrow
The first of several cooler afternoons is likely tomorrow as temperatures climb into the mid to upper 80s. Cloud cover will fill in more during the afternoon and a couple of stray showers will be possible. Expect a breezy afternoon with northeasterly winds flowing at 5-12 mph. Gusts should reach around 20 mph across the region.
Overnight will be mostly cloudy again but conditions should be a bit more seasonal (but still above normal) with lows in the mid 60s for much of the region. The wind will remain breezy through the night with gusts of 15-20 mph possible from the northeast.
Thursday and Beyond
Thursday will be the coolest afternoon Middle Georgia has seen in some time with highs likely in the mid 70s for much of the region. This will come with plenty of cloud cover and wind as gusts of 20-25 mph will be possible throughout the afternoon. While rain is not expected a few sprinkles will be possible. Sunshine will return Friday as overnight temperatures continue to go even cooler, reaching their valleys in the lower 50s Friday night. That’s close to 10 below average! A warming trend is expected to follow through the weekend and into next week.
