Cooling assistance appointments open July 10 for Middle Georgia low-income residents

Appointments open July 10 for low-income residents in MGCAA and HOGCAC counties; slots are limited and fill quickly.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Middle Georgia Community Action Agency and Heart of Georgia Community Action Council will open additional Cooling Assistance appointments for low-income residents across its service area starting Thursday, July 10.

According to a Facebook post from the agency, appointments will open at 12 p.m. for MGCAA counties and at 4 p.m. for HOGCAC counties. MGCAA residents can book appointments by calling (478) 654-0101 or visiting mgcaa.itfrontdesk.com. Appointments are first come, first served, and the agency says they often fill up within minutes.

In the MGCAA region, the number of appointments available per county includes: Butts (59), Crawford (25), Houston (216 total – 151 in Warner Robins and 65 in Perry), Jones (45), Lamar (33), Monroe (33), Peach (53), Pike (21), Spalding (127), Twiggs (16) and Upson (52).

In the HOGCAC region, the agency will open: Bleckley (19), Dodge (37), Laurens (82), Montgomery (13), Pulaski (18), Telfair (29), Treutlen (14), Wheeler (16) and Wilcox (13).
