Community Mourn Dogs at All About Animals Candlelight Vigil
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Nearly a hundred people gathered in prayer, to remember the three dogs, killed after a break-in at a Macon animal shelter.
Investigators are still working on the details, but it’s believed that sometime Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, someone broke into All About Animals killing the dogs and injuring several others.
On Sunday night, volunteers, community members, and elected officials gathered at the shelter and took time to honor the animals and take a stand against animal abuse.
“We are taking this case very seriously,” Macon mayor Robert Reichert.
“Who can do that? And these dogs have been through so much just to be here and get a second chance at life, I didn’t, I just, I can’t fathom it,” said All About Animals volunteer Kathy Brantley.
There is currently an $8,000 reward for a tip leading to the arrest and conviction of the person/people responsible. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers that number is 1-877-68-CRIME.
