Commemorate the end of slavery during Georgia Juneteenth Week

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – All week long, there are events in Macon commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. It is called Georgia Juneteenth Week. George Muhammad stopped by Daybreak to tell us all about it.

Muhammad said it is important to remember our past.

Some of the key events during the week include a free workshop called “Heal a Woman: Heal a Nation” at Edna Place on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Annual Real Talk Hip Hop Summit on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bloomfield Park, and the 22nd Annual Juneteenth Freedom Festival at Tattnal Square Park from 3 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
