College Hill Alliance among finalists for community development grant

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Ever thought about starting your own business?

The College Hill Alliance is among the finalists to receive a grant that may help you do just that.

The community organization has been named one of 97 national finalists for consideration for an Art Place America grant.

The grant helps support community growth.

The grant is worth 60 thousand dollars.

Nadia Osman is the director of revitalization and business initiatives for the Alliance.

“(We want to) promote entrepreneurs and small businesses and that’s what the Alliance and the College Hill Corridor and all of our partners really focusing on now–a wonderful place to live but if you can’t make a living it doesn’t work,” said Osman.

Osman said whether or not they receive the grant, the Alliance will try and hold the event in the near future.
