Coliseum Northside Hospital earns “A” for patient safety

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Coliseum Northside hospital received an “A” grade for patient safety. The Leapfrog Group is a national patient safety watchdog that grades hospitals. Coliseum Northside was one of 823 hospitals across the nation and the only hospital in Macon to earn an “A”.

The “A” is for the hospital’s work in reducing errors, infections and accidents. The chief nursing officer, Pat Derrico says they do their best to provide great patient experience.

“We’re a community hospital,” Derrico said. “We work very, very hard to provide patient safety, quality care, you don’t have to be an 800 bed hospital to have a great care experience.”

This is the fourth time in a row Coliseum Northside has gotten an “A”. Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin also got the same grade. Leapfrog conducts the survey twice a year.
