Cold front Wednesday to bring rain

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An incoming cold front will bring showers to Middle Georgia throughout the day Wednesday.
This Evening and Overnight
It’s been a sunny day across Middle Georgia however high cirrus clouds have begun to arrive during the late afternoon and evening. Cloud cover will continue to fill in across the region with a few rain showers possible by sunrise tomorrow morning. It will be a chilly night however temperatures will remain above freezing as lows should be in the upper 30s and lower 40s. The wind will continue out of the southwest at around 5 mph.
Tomorrow
An overcast day is expected Wednesday as rain will likely be ongoing as the sun rises. Temperatures will climb into the low to mid 50s around the region accompanied by southwest winds gusting upwards of 20 mph.
As for the rain it will likely be in two main waves: one during the morning and again during the evening when the cold front arrives. Thunderstorm activity is not expected as conditions are both too chilly and too dry.
Overnight a few showers may linger early as the cold front finally makes its pass. The wind will shift from the southwest to the northwest following the passage as well as increase. Gusts rolling into Thursday morning will likely be in the 20-30 mph range. Overnight lows will be below freezing, however all precipitation will cut off before that happens.
Thursday and Beyond
Thursday will be cold and windy as temperatures only reach the low to mid 40s in the afternoon. The wind will range from 10-20 mph with gusts ranging anywhere from 25-40 mph, likely keeping wind chills in the afternoon below 40 degrees. the wind will return to out of the southwest heading into Friday. Wind will be quite prominent around all of Georgia to end the work week and it will likely persist into the weekend as well.
