Cochran man arrested on aggravated child molestation charge

Bleckley County Sheriff’s Office urges public to report additional victims after recent arrest

COCHRAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Cochran man faces an aggravated child molestation charge after being arrested this week.

According to a Facebook post by Bleckley County Sheriff Daniel Cape, deputies received a complaint on Monday indicating improper and illegal activity involving an adult male and juvenile female.

An investigation led to multiple interviews of the victim and suspect, which then resulted in criminal warrants being issued for 49-year-old Widale Hobe.

Hobe was taken into custody on Wednesday.

“If anyone else is aware of other potential victims, please reach out to Chief Deputy Simpson at (478) 934-4545,” Cape wrote. “As your Sheriff, I assure you that there is nothing more important than the safety, security and well being of our children. We will act swift and decisive and we will come after you with everything we have or can get, to arrest you and put you before a Judge and Jury. You will not harm our children and get away with it.”
