Cochran-Bleckley Chamber announces lineup of upcoming community events

COCHRAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Cochran-Bleckley County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a series of upcoming events aimed at bringing the community together, including networking opportunities, live entertainment and seasonal celebrations.

The chamber will kick things off with “Business After Hours” on Thursday at Frostbite Ice Cream and Subs. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. at 119 North Second St. and offers a chance for community members to connect and network.

The Chamber Classic Annual Golf Tournament is scheduled for May 1 at Uchee Trail Golf Club, located at 202 Country Club Road. Registration begins at 7 a.m., with a shotgun start set for 8 a.m. Organizers say the tournament will include meals, prizes and multiple contest opportunities.

Second Saturday is set for May 9 and will feature live music by Tim Darsey & Friends. The free event begins at 6:30 p.m. at 102 North Second St., with multiple food trucks on site.

Cochran’s Fourth of July Celebration is planned for July 4 in downtown Cochran along Main Street. The event will begin with a cruise-in at 5 p.m., followed by a full evening of activities starting at 6 p.m., including live music, food trucks, vendors, games and contests.

Additional activities include a bicycle parade, golf cart parade, water play for kids and a 1-mile and 5K road race. A fireworks show is scheduled at dark to close out the celebration.

Organizers say the event is free and open to the public.
